WALKING TOUR BROCHURE

I was prompted to create a walking tour brochure of a location of my choosing in InDesign. I was inspired by the location of my summer 2019 internship: Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I aimed to depict a contrast in Brooklyn’s industrial past and its current trendy, modern identity. These contrasts are evident in the angular, bright red shapes and the black and white image of the Williamsburg Bridge, for example.

I prioritized the usability of my design. In order to do so, I created simple paper prototypes to visualize the brochure’s design. In my final pocket-sized design, the map of the walking path is always accessible regardless of the user’s place in the brochure’s content. This eliminates the common challenge of constantly flipping large brochures back and forth.

PERSONAL BRANDING

Using Illustrator, I created graphics for my business card and resume. I focused on the simple geometry of my first name to create a personal logo. As for the color scheme, I chose my two favorite complementary colors as a reflection of my fun and creative side.

IT'S ALL ABOUT... CLIMATE CHANGE

This project asked me to design a poster all about a certain subject of interest. I chose to base my poster concept on climate change as I am passionate about this subject. I aimed to inspire and encourage my audience to think about the subject by using bold colors, graphic images, and strategic spacing of text in Photoshop and Illustrator. I wanted to create an exaggerated interpretation of the effects of Global Warming, hence the Floridian postcard design juxtaposed with the Alaska location. I decided to leave a large amount of space between the image and the text to facilitate an experience for the user from the image to the text and back to the image. My intent was to create an “Aha!” moment for the image’s message.

WAKE UP

I was challenged to create a graphic poster using text in Photoshop to communicate a message of my choice. At the time of this project, Global Warming strikes were at a high and were occurring on my university’s campus. I decided to base my poster on this phenomenon. Although this topic is frequently voiced, I wanted to display it in a unique way that would intrigue the viewer. I liquified the text “Wake Up” to depict fire circulating the earth. I also manipulated the text “We have no Planet B” within the land of the earth graphic to put forth a central message at the center of the poster.
