This project challenged me to recreate a home of my choosing that was under 2000 square feet in Revit. After researching, I chose to model the SP House, a minimalist residential home in an urban area of Portugal. It was designed by Gonçalo Duarte Pacheco and was built in 2018. I was drawn to the architect’s aim to maintain the terrain and build the space with respect to its surroundings. As a result, the home sits within a sloped field of three meters. The entry to the home is on the second level with a bridge that provides direct access from the street to the upper level.
The upper floor has an open floor plan with the kitchen, living, and dining room all connected. There is also a deck that sits on top of the lower level’s garage, which can be accessed from the main entryway/kitchen. The lower floor is the more private area of the home with bedrooms, bathrooms, and closet space. This level has access to the pool, patio, and garage. The exterior finishes are limited to white concrete with wood accents. I aimed to decorate the interior with respect to the simple, modern architectural design.
